Our foundation is Scripture.
Holy Words of ancient wisdom and divine insight.
We read the many books to understand.
To find ways in which they bring meaning to our lives.
In the more ancient of the texts, we discover new paths to faith.
In the more modern of the texts, we rediscover old paths to faith.
They form a continuing testament.
To Creator and creation, covenant and believer,
To failure and reconciliation, doubt and hope.
To history and prophecy, to struggle and triumph.

UNISON: As we turn once more to the words of Holy Scripture, may we be open to new enlightenment, renewed faith, remembered wisdom, and continuing awe before the gift of these testaments to the glory which is never ending and always abiding, AMEN.
