About Peace Covenant

Peace Covenant is a vibrant, financially secure congregation with exceptional individual and collective mission to its community. We reflect the wonderful diversity and island mystique that are Key West’s One Human Family culture. Let us assist you in making Key West’s Church of the Rock your home.

Children & Youth

We offer programs that capture your child’s imagination in faith-based education. Our teachers are experienced professionals. A nursery is available during Sunday worship.

Adults

The diversity among our adult members and friends ensures Peace Covenant provides exceptional opportunities for fellowship, worship and service to each other and the community.

Our vision for our future

Peace Covenant is one of two Presbyterian PCUSA churches in Key West. The other is Trinity Presbyterian, a historically black congregation. Peace Covenant welcomes all who believe.

Across the Island & the world

Our members are generous with their time, money and talents in supporting the Church’s mission and outreach.  We do not limit ourselves to the needs of the local community.  Our congregation provides support for two mission families in Niger and Madagascar and has assisted with the crushing crisis that Haiti has and continues to experience.  We continue our mission to those affected by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Church of the Rock

On Jan. 30, 1957 and calling itself the Church of the Rock, we broke ground for what would become the third Presbyterian Church in Key West. In years just prior to the groundbreaking, Church of the Rock was created by a break-away group from the established First Presbyterian Church of Key West. Trinity Presbyterian Church, a historically black congregation, was the third Presbyterian church.

On December 1, 1968, the two historically white congregations formed a new church named Peace Covenant Presbyterian Church. The name reflects the reconciliation and new spirit that was nurtured between two groups.  From the roots of two churches came one church dedicated to being a light to the nations and a presence of God’s love in Key West.

The Key West Mystique

There really is such a thing as the Key West mystique. We’re an island at the end of the road. A place where others dream about and we love, even when we’re having an unpleasant moment. Our congregation reflects the diversity of Key West and celebrates its One Human Family culture.
