Church and manse sustain damage from Ian flooding

Dear Church Family and Friends,
We hope and pray that you are safe and well on this Friday morning.
As you know, Hurricane Ian smashed the coast of Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island and damage has been done all over Florida. It is devastating to say the least and sad to see.
Our church and home flooded quite a bit on Tuesday evening. You can see pictures attached that show some of the damage and water. The pictures you see are one foot lower than the highest point which was at midnight. We received 4 inches of water in the back of our home including the living room, master bedroom, closet and bathroom and all church buildings received about 4 inches of water as well. None was spared. As fast as the water came in, two hours later the tide pulled it all back from our home and every church building.
However, we still needed to clean up any standing water as well as get rid of a ton of debris. Our cleaners came over and did an amazing job in cleaning everything up and keeping the A/C on to dry any other dampness out. Doug Brown, Our Chair of Buildings and Grounds also stepped forward to vacuum all standing water out of our sanctuary. Stellar Carpet who installed the previous carpet in the sanctuary came over and ripped it out and we have now reordered a new carpet with the same color from the same company to replace it. Monies have been given to pay for the carpet completely. Praise God.
You will also see a picture where the sun is shining over our sanctuary. God is still in control and our church will continue this Sunday at 11 AM worshiping our Lord. In many ways, we were fortunate to only have water in the rooms and buildings. People in other places have nothing.
Please keep in your prayers this morning all the people affected by Hurricane Ian, Marilyn Vanderveen, Beth Childress, Naomi Fritz and those who lost their home on Flagler Avenue due to the fire.
Count your blessings,
Pastor Daniel
