Pastor Daniel’s Weekly Newsletter | March 22, 2019
Good morning Peace Covenant Family,
Jesus said, “To whom much is given, much will be required.” When a church loses a beloved pastor as Peace Covenant did in September and hosts a Stewardship Campaign, the results can be tenuous at best. This is normal in all churches and Peace Covenant is no exception. While our expenses have been low, our income needs to be boosted as we continue through the challenging summer months.
Challenge to GIVE
Last Sunday, after consulting with our Session, I challenged the congregation to match an extra $600 check that I put in the offering plate. I told them that if they couldn’t match it then halve it or quarter it or send in $10 extra. Since Sunday, several of you have responded in a very positive manner with matching $600 checks. One gentleman had written a $100 check to put in the offering then crossed it out and wrote a $1000 check and handed it to me. Every extra dollar counts! Thank you to everyone who contributes on a regular basis and anyone who is planning to match the $600 challenge! We appreciate your faithfulness in giving to Peace Covenant. We are well on our way to filling the Stewardship Gap for 2019. Please consider joining us. Jesus said, “To whom much is given, much will be required.”

Our first video sermon!
Last Sunday was historic for our church. We videotaped the sermon for the first time and it is now available for you to see. You will be able to access the sermon and older sermons on a regular basis on our website at www.peacecovenantpckw.com. Each week we will provide you a link to the previous Sunday sermon as you will see right here. All you have to do is click it on!
Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow March 17, 2019 |Continues our theme on David, a Man of Passion and Destiny! This Sunday we will see David finally becoming the King and he lets loose with a dance… |
Adult Sunday School
During Sunday School this week I will be continuing our study in Philippians chapter 1. Last week we learned several important words including episkopois which is the Greek word for Elder and where we get our word, Episcopalian. The other Greek word for Elder is presbyturos where we get our word Presbyterian. Pretty amazing that two significant denominations got their names from the Greek word for Elder.
David and Bathsheba | Sunday Worship
In worship I will continue my sermon series on David, A Man of Passion and Destiny. This week we look at David and Bathsheba and we will discover that David’s fall began much earlier as the King of Israel. The consequence of his sin are severe and they serve as a lesson for us today.
Don’t forget about Maintenance Monday, March 25 at 9 a.m. at the church!
I hope you have a blessed day as we drink in the sunshine here in Key West and the Sonshine of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
