Pastor’s weekly newsletter | 01-07-2022

Dear Church Family and Friends,
We hope and pray that you are safe and well as another variant continues to sweep across the globe. This Sunday we will keep the A/C on and open the sliding glass doors to allow fresh air to flow through our sanctuary. I want to strongly encourage you to consider wearing a mask over the next few Sundays and hopefully we will see the variant ease across the country over the following month.
This Sunday I will be preaching from Ephesians 5 where the Apostle Paul talks about walking the walk. He talks about walking in love, walking in wisdom, and walking in the Spirit. He instructs us to be very careful how we live our lives and to make the most of every opportunity. Paul ties this lesson in with listening to the Holy Spirit who will guide us and inspire us to be aware of all the people we encounter every day and to try and be that light that brings a smile to someone in need of hope.
The Pastor Nominating Committee and the Committee on Ministry have asked our Session to call a Congregational Meeting for Sunday, January 16 at the end of the service. The PNC and your current Transitional Pastor have reached an agreement on the Terms of Call which will be presented at the meeting. We will print the details in the bulletin as well. Our Executive Presbyter and Stated Clerk, Reverend Dr. Daris Bultena will moderate the meeting as approved by the COM. The Session has approved the Congregational Meeting and Linda Cunningham, Chair of the PNC will present the information and motion from the committee.
Please keep in your prayers this morning Barry Gibson, Beth Childress, and Michael Werner (John Penkoske’s partner).
Have a safe and blessed weekend,
Pastor Daniel
