Dear Church Family and Friends,
We hope and pray that you are safe and well on this Friday morning.
This Sunday our Session has called for a Congregational Meeting from a request by your Pastor Nominating Committee and the Tropical Florida Committee On Ministry at the end of the worship service and before the final hymn. Reverend Dr. Daris Bultena, Executive Presbyter of Tropical Florida has been asked by the COM to moderate this meeting. The PNC and I have come to an agreement to become the permanent pastor if the way be clear. We hope you can be present for this important step in the life of the congregation. We have postponed the reception due to the strong possibility of rain and will reschedule at a later date. If you have any questions regarding the process, please contact Linda Cunningham or myself.
This Sunday I will be preaching on one of the great passages from Paul but also one of the more confusing scriptures to put into practice. The scripture comes from Ephesians 6:10-17 where Paul speaks about how to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. How do we protect our integrity, tell the truth, share the peace of Christ and hold fast to the shield of faith?
I invite you to please consider joining the Interfaith Ministerial Alliance (IMA) online at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 17, 2022, for prayer, fellowship, and inspiration as we come together in celebrating the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year, we are delighted to welcome Bishop Richard C. Crenshaw, from the Alabama-Florida area of the AME ZION Church as our distinguished guest speaker. https://amez.org/presentbishops/bishop-george-crenshaw/? I currently serve as the Vice President of the IMA.
In addition to coming together in fellowship and mutual understanding of Dr. King’s dream, this event fuels our annual scholarship program, which awards monies to high school graduates heading off to college each year.
Donations to this fund are encouraged and can be mailed directly to the IMA at PO Box 5124 Key West, Florida 33045-5124 or made online at GIVELIFY (through Cornish Memorial AME ZION Church).

Please keep in your prayers this morning, Barry Gibson, Beth Childress and Michael Werner.
May God richly bless you this weekend,
Pastor Daniel
