Dear Church Family and Friends,

We hope you are safe and well on this warm Friday morning here in Key West.

This Sunday I will be preaching on the Lectionary Reading from Luke 6. This is one of the most challenging Scriptures in all of the Bible. “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you.” Jesus serves up a doozy for his followers to hear.

How can we accomplish this challenge from the Sermon on the Mount? How is it possible to do good to those who hate us? How can we love our enemies? I am going to try and share ways and examples of men and women who have found the fortitude within to change the people who despise them. Let me be clear. This is not going to be easy for any of us!

Please keep in your prayers this morning Barry Gibson, Beth Childress, Beverly Morris, Heather and Emma Smothers for continued healing and weight gain for Emma and Richard and Pat Payne. Also, please pray for Bill and Carol Bradbury who are still here in the Keys but unable to drive down to Key West for our services.
