Dear Church Family and Friends,
We hope and pray that you are safe and well on this final Friday of April.
This Sunday we will celebrate Holy Communion together as we remember the gift of life, redemption and forgiveness given to us through our Lord Jesus Christ. The Scripture lesson comes from the Lectionary passage from John 21 where the disciples go fishing together and catch nothing, zero, zilch. Jesus is standing on the shore and instructs them to throw the nets on the other side of the boat and they catch 153 fish. How is that possible? How did Jesus know so much about fishing? What is the point of the story?
Next Sunday, May 8 is Mother’s Day, a very special day for all the women in our lives. The Session has called for a Congregational Meeting at the end of the service to elect four new Elders. Our current Elders have served through a pandemic and beyond and we have been incredibly blessed by their service. We thank Elders Ann Reynolds, Heather Smothers, Robert Cintron and Vicki Grant for their commitment to God and Peace Covenant. .
On Sunday, May 15 we will return to Sunday School at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. It has been over two years since we last met to study God’s Word together.
Please keep in your prayers this morning Ann Reynolds who recently had successful knee surgery. Pray for a smooth recovery. Also pray for Marilyn Vanderveen (I will share more details in the worship service on Sunday). Also pray for Beth Childress and the Flight Family and the people in Ukraine.
Have a wonderful weekend,
