Dear Church Family and Friends,

“When you’ve done everything you can do, that’s when God will step in and do what you cannot do.” 2 Corinthians 12:10

Sometimes we find ourselves exasperated and frustrated during these times of isolation and crisis. We have done everything we can think of but still have a feeling of helplessness. Paul reminds us that God will step in and help us accomplish what we struggle to do. Isn’t it great to know that God is watching over us, knows our thoughts and our struggles and is waiting to help? Thank you God for your faithfulness to us!

Last Saturday, we held our Presbytery Meeting via Zoom and at this time, Tropical Florida Presbytery is asking all Sessions to carefully think about a time when they might like to reopen. Our Session will be meeting soon via Zoom to discuss the options and report back to you. There are a myriad of issues to consider at this time for any church. Tropical Florida Presbytery has given churches no authorization to open at this time but invites us into preliminary conversations.

By the way, if you need any financial assistance, please contact me at any time. Also, Matt Hampton is offering his ability to help fix any car for free. Matt has connected with us during this time of social distancing and lives close by and his wife, Sydney is due to give birth to their first child on June 11. Also, Hannah Edwards is also available to go grocery shopping for anyone who feels uncomfortable going to the grocery store.

Last Tuesday, our new secretary/office manager, Kylie MacLaren started working with Mary Cintron to transition over the next two weeks. Our office hours currently are 2:30 – 5:30. We will update you with any changes going forward.

This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend and my sermon will focus on remembering those who gave their lives for our freedom and Christ who offered up his life to redeem us and give us new life and hope.

Please keep in your prayers this week, Isabel Reid whose 95 year old mother passed into eternity, Gerald Walters at home with extra care and Ed Cunningham who is back home with antibiotics. We always keep praying for Barry Gibson and Beth Childress with their continuing treatments.

We pray that God will bless you during this time and keep you safe in his care.

Blessings,

Pastor Daniel
