Dear Church Family and Friends,

We hope and pray that you are safe and well on this Friday morning.

Jaye J. and I just returned from a 3-day trip to New York City where we spent time with my youngest brother, Jon and his wife, Mary. We had a great time and a sobering experience visiting the 9/11 Memorial. We were able to take a boat to the Statue of Liberty and go to a Jazzfest on Governor’s Island.

This Sunday is another very important day. It is Father’s Day, a time to thank our fathers, grandfathers, uncles and men who mentor children and youth. My sermon will focus on the power of a tiny mustard seed. Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, the smallest seed that can produce the largest plant.” How can we take that lesson as fathers, as Christians and allow God to take our tiny faith and use it to transform this world for Jesus Christ?

Charles Gerwig, a former member and Elder passed into eternity this past week. Please keep his family in your prayers. Also, please pray for Beth Childress, Barry Gibson, Diana Jones and others going through health and life challenges.
