Dear Church Family and Friends,
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Thought outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16
What a wonderful verse for us today. As we look at our country it feels we are wasting away as things do not look or feel so good especially here in the State of Florida. Yet Paul reminds us that we are still being renewed, rejuvenated and restored every single day. God is working in us in ways we don’t even understand.
I want to thank Doug Brown and Miguel Ontiveros for hanging the beautiful glass doors to our Fellowship Hall and for working on our storage areas designed by Bill Miller with our great committee led by Vicki Grant. I have attached several pictures of the doors and storage areas.
A member of our church has made a donation in memory of Gerald L. Walters and this will establish a new Memorial Fund to be used at the discretion of the Session. Sue Walters has agreed with this purpose as well. The initial donation was several thousand dollars and if you would like to give money in memory of Gerald, please make the check to Peace Covenant and earmark, Gerald L. Walters Memorial Fund.
This Sunday I will be preaching on a rather confusing Scripture passage where a woman comes to Jesus asking to heal her daughter. Jesus doesn’t initially respond to her and then tells her that he has been called to the lost sheep of Israel. What? What in the world is he talking about? This woman continues to persist and my sermon title is: Do not take NO for an answer!
I pray that you are safe in this environment. We do have a family that has the virus and is recovering and we pray for Barry Gibson and Beth Childress during their upcoming treatments.
May God continue to bless you and renew your mind, body and soul inwardly as we seek to follow Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven.
