Dear Church Family and Friends,
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
I think patience in tribulation or trial, or challenges is one of the hardest traits to master. We are inherently an impatient people, but we are not alone. People from generation to generation over the centuries have been impatient but if we can somehow turn our problem over to God then perhaps God will give us exactly what we need to get through the challenge.
It is that time of year when tropical storms and hurricanes head west and as you are aware, we have a Tropical Depression Laura showing that it is aimed right at us. Please be prepared for anything you might need in case the power goes out or to stock up on food and water. Please also know that we are here for you. If you need anything during this time, don’t hesitate to let me know. We are one church and one human family and when these kinds of crises arise, we work together for the good of everyone in our church and in our community.
This Sunday I am beginning a new sermon series on the book and story of Nehemiah. Who is Nehemiah? He was a person who rose to a difficult task to rebuild the walls and city of Jerusalem. He had to face withering criticism, discouragement, and challenges each step of the journey. This sermon is for everyone and talk about having patience! The title of my sermon this week is: Houston, we have a problem.
Next week, our Office Manager/Secretary Kylie MacLaren will be in the office from 9-12 each day. She is doing an amazing job.
Please keep in your prayers Beth Childress and Barry Gibson as they continue the path of treatments. Let us pray for healing, patience, and great energy.
Blessings,
Pastor Daniel
