Dear Church Family and Friends,

We hope and pray that you are safe and well on this second Friday in September.

This Sunday we return to 11 AM for worship. Sunday School will begin at 10:15 AM. I will continue to preach through the two books of Corinthians. This Sunday, we will be looking at 2 Corinthians 4:16 through 5:2. Paul tells us to keep going, don’t quit, don’t lose heart. This ties in with the 21^st Anniversary of 9/11 which falls on Sunday. We will have a moment of silence and the call to worship and opening prayers will reflect the remembrance. If you get a chance to go to the 9/11 Memorial in New York City, please do so and give yourself at least 4-5 hours. It is a somber experience but important to remember those who passed into eternity on that fateful day.

I am also continuing to lead worship at Trinity Presbyterian, our sister black church on Simonton. That service begins at 12:30 PM. I am helping them as a bridge to the next step in their journey as they currently have no one to help preach and lead worship.

Please keep my family in your prayers. Recently, my father had fallen several times while at home and was at one point rushed to the Emergency Room with his blood pressure 220 over 110. He was released from the hospital and then my stepmom had to be rushed to the Emergency Room for another health issue.

Also pray for Marilyn Vanderveen, Beth Childress and Naomi Fritz. Good news on Kimberly Flight and the Flight family. Kimberly had a pet scan and she is cancer free and will continue these scans every 3 months.
