Dear Church Family and Friends,
We hope and pray that you are safe and well on this beautiful, cool Friday morning here in Key West.
Today, United Way is hosting a food drive at the SOS building behind City Hall to honor Mike Forster, a former member of the United Way Board who passed away unexpectedly from Covid last year. This will assist fellow Key West residents who were impacted by Hurricane Ian. They are asking for cans and bags of shelf stable food goods. Please think about giving generously.
This Sunday, we are especially blessed to have three high school teenagers who have desired to be confirmed and two will also be baptized. Sara Hoerl, Alexandra Konesca and Zachary Connelly. We will also have cake and punch in the Fellowship Hall for the first time in a long time so please plan on coming to worship to honor these three young people and to the Fellowship Hall afterward.
This Sunday I will be preaching from Paul’s great passage in Philippians 3 where he reminds all of us on how to live our lives. He writes, “This one thing I do, forgetting the past, I reach forward to what lies ahead and I press on to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” It doesn’t get any better than that. Please join us this Sunday at 11 AM. I will be also leading worship and preaching at Trinity at 12:30 PM.
I also wanted to let you know that Bob and Lynn Jones have been reinstated as members of the church.
Please keep in your prayers this morning, Marilyn Vanderveen, Beth Childress, Naomi Fritz and all those impacted by Hurricane Ian.
Have a wonderful weekend,
