Dear Church Family and Friends,
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” Jame 1:12
We are all persevering through this pandemic one hour, one day, one week at a time. On Monday, the doors of the Florida Keys will swing open as tourists will be allowed back in. May the virus stay contained as we begin a new transition here in Key West!
Our new Office Manager/Secretary Kylie MacLaren is now in place. A special thank you to Mary for her training and efforts in making this a smooth and easy adjustment. Beginning Monday, the office hours will return to 9 a.m. – 12 noon. We officially welcome Kylie in her new position!
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday when the Holy Spirit came down and touched all the people gathered on that first Pentecost Celebration. I will be preaching on how to harness the power and the energy of the Holy Spirit in 2020 and how the Holy Spirit can energize us to be more effective Christians. For your information, we normally take a Pentecost Offering as part of our church offerings where 40% of the money is used right here in Key West. We will keep you posted.
Our Session will be meeting online Sunday to begin an initial discussion on when we might reopen the church for Sunday morning services. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue digital services. You may have noticed a better picture and improved sound last Sunday. We purchased a new video camera thanks to Corky and Ann Diefendorf’s generosity in giving to a new video system. They worship with us every single Sunday in Shelter Island, New York.
If you are in need of any financial assistance, car repair help or grocery pickup, please let us know. We would be happy to help you any way we can!
Please keep in your prayers, Gerald Walters at home and Barry Gibson and Beth Childress in their ongoing treatments. Ed Cunningham has made great progress at home.
May God continue to bless you and keep you safe and healthy during this pandemic.
