Dear Church Family and Friends,
“When you go through the deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2
We all go through difficult and challenging times and feel like we are not only knee deep but chin deep hanging on for dear life. I can remember running out of money in my first year at Florida Bible College. I had borrowed $20 from the college and I had just gotten a job and I was hanging on for dear life. I had no money to eat and I remember putting a dollar of gas in my car praying the car would make it from Hollywood, Florida to Bal Harbor and it did! God doesn’t promise that we won’t go through deep waters. God promises to be with us when we do.
This Sunday I will be preaching on a great scripture from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 talking about two being better than one. This is so appropriate for what is happening in our country today. Two are more powerful, resilient, and determined than one. Even Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered, I will be there as well.” He is talking about the power of two or three or four or five or a million. When we come together with others, there is always strength in numbers.
One of our Elders has asked me to ask you if you would be interested in a congregational Zoom get together over the next few weeks. We do realize that we have several people who are unable to zoom by video but can call in. If you are interested, simply let me know and if we have enough people, we will zoom!
As you may well be aware, the Coronavirus numbers have spiked to record numbers here in Florida. Please be safe and wear a mask when in a store or restaurant or encountering other people. It is now a requirement for Monroe County. We continue to pray for a vaccine. Please keep in your prayers Sue Walters after the passing of her husband, Gerald of 60 years and Barry Gibson and Beth Childress as they continue their treatments.
Have a safe and blessed weekend,
Pastor Daniel
