Pastor’s weekly newsletter | Feb. 14, 2020

Good morning everyone,

Happy Valentine’s Day to our wonderful church family. I hope you feel the love of family and God and some good chocolate!

Last week we celebrated our heritage as Presbyterians with bagpipers, kilts and incredible music. Head to our Facebook Page for videos and pictures!

February is an exciting month for our Mission and Outreach Committee. We are beginning our new Mission Outreach Fund to take the place of our beloved Len Millison Fund. Over the past 12 years, over $50,000 was donated to our mission and outreach endeavors. We have provided individuals and organizations, locally and worldwide, needed funds to improve the lives of the impoverished. The new mission fund will continue to support the humanitarian endeavors that Peace Covenant is dedicated and blessed to undertake.

The new Mission Envelopes are located in the pews. For those who are out of town, we welcome and appreciate your donation. Please make checks payable to Peace Covenant Presbyterian Church and signify Mission Outreach Fund. You can also donate online on our website. Thank you for your support!

This Sunday during Sunday School we will head back to Genesis 37-38 to review the beginning of the fall and rise of Joseph. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. During worship, I will be preaching on being a new creation in Christ. The sermon is called, Tango On! After worship, we will hold a Congregational Meeting to elect three at large Nominating Committee members. Anyone can nominate themselves or another person who is a church member.

This coming Monday is Maintenance Monday and we invite everyone to join us to fix up areas of our property and grounds. It all begins at 9 a.m. here at the church.

Our Ash Wednesday Service will take place here in our sanctuary at noon on February 26. This is the beginning of the Lenten Season where we stop and reflect on our willingness to follow Christ.

Our Chili Cookoff is coming on Sunday, March 1 after worship. Bring your best homemade chili and be entered into our Key West Chili Cookoff. Let us know if you will be bringing chili.

All members, our per capita amount is $36 per person. Please make your check out to Peace Covenant as this goes to Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly. Thank you!

Please keep in your prayers Bill Bradbury and Beth Childress who will receive a more aggressive round of chemo today.

Have a wonderful Valentines Day Weekend,
Pastor Daniel
