Good morning everyone,

Today our church will honor Doug Brown for his leadership in overseeing our Property Committee this past year as well as his unselfish desire to improve the offices, church grounds and buildings. Doug will be honored during the Unsung Heroes Luncheon today. Unfortunately, he is under the weather and has asked me to accept the award on his behalf. Congratulations and thank you Doug!

I want to thank the Member Care Committee for their fantastic Super Bowl Lunch this past Sunday as well as everyone who brought dishes to serve. We had an amazing crowd and you can see the pictures and video on our Facebook Page to see the joy on the faces of all who came.

This Sunday we will celebrate our heritage and history with a special Scottish Service called the Kirkin O’ the Tartan. We have two bagpipers who will play before the service so plan on coming about 10 minutes early. They will also play during the service and after. I will be wearing the Stewart Clan Tartan and we have two Scotsmen, Bruce Boyd and Randy McDonald who will act as Beadles to carry in the Bible. If you can find some plaid in your closet, put it on and feel good about our Presbyterian heritage!

During Sunday School at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall, Doug Brown will be leading the class in Genesis 37. This begins the story of Joseph who will face incredible adversity throughout his life but God protected him and gave him a beautiful purpose in life.

On Sunday, February 16, after worship we will have a Congregational Meeting to elect three at large members for the Nominating Committee. This will commence after we greet everyone at the door after the service.

Don’t forget to send in $36 per church member for our Per Capita which is doled out to Tropical Florida Presbytery, Synod of South Atlantic and our General Assembly.

Ash Wednesday Service will take place on Wednesday, February 26 at noon in our sanctuary. This will officially begin the Lenten Season.

Our Fellowship Hall is now in the process of being completely refurbished. All the lights have been changed to LED lights and we will be painting soon. If you would like to help paint, please let Vicki Grant, Chair of Property know.

Have a blessed and safe weekend,

Pastor Daniel
