I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday as we celebrated our Independence Day. We were able to catch the fireworks right out our back window!

I want to thank all of you who have contributed to the purchase of our new hymnals, Glory To God. We have orders for 100 hymnals as well as our anonymous members who will purchase the rest and I want to thank them here as well.

Last week, we ordered 140 new purple hymnals, 5 large print and 3 accompaniment editions. We should be receiving them no later than next week. We were also able to procure free shipping as well. God is good and you are wonderful! We will publish all the names ‘in honor of’ and ‘in memory of’ when we finish the process over the next several weeks and attach them to a weekly email.

This Sunday I will be asking the question “Why.” Why should we trust God? Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us an amazing scripture lesson to think about. Solomon writes: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and he will direct your paths.” This is a great scripture to memorize and keep in your repertoire.

Who do you trust with your life, your mate, your future? We will explore the powerful meaning behind these words from Solomon as we seek to answer the question, Why should we trust God?
