Good Friday morning Peace Covenant Family,

Last Sunday our Session met in my renovated office around a beautiful conference table and it was a historic meeting. We will be sharing more details of the meeting as we move forward through the summer but I am so proud of our Session for helping to move Peace Covenant into the future!

New hymnal coming! One of our major decisions is to replace our Blue Hymnals with the latest Glory To God Presbyterian Hymnal. Please see the attachment of the picture of the purple hymnal. One of our church members is generously purchasing 60 of the hymnals. We now only need 70 more. The Session is inviting all of us to buy a hymnal in memory of or in honor of someone special.

The cost per hymnal is $20. Jaye J. and I are going to purchase five hymnals in memory of our mothers and in honor and memory of three of our past ministers, Larry Schenk, Len Millison, and Rande Smith. Please make checks out to Peace Covenant and send dedications to the church in care of Mary Cintron.

There are 853 hymns in the hymnal and many wonderful old hymns have been brought back as well as lovely spirituals. It is full of excellent hymns with many new ones as well. My favorite new hymn in the hymnal is right here called Christ Be Our Light. Take a listen. I may bring out my guitar with the organ as they did here!

The Session also voted to utilize Paychex for our payroll and we are in the process of finishing this task thanks to Mary Cintron. This will allow us to have Direct Deposit for all our employees.

This Sunday is Pentecost. Don’t forget our service starts at 10 a.m. Pentecost always takes place 50 days after Easter. It is the birthday of our church and the welcoming of the gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

In case you missed last Sunday’s service, here it is:

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Daniel
