PASTOR’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER | Good morning everyone,
As you know, we are currently raising money for the people in the Bahamas. Our Mission Committee met this past week and made the decision to send 50% of the money to PDA, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. They are a part of our denominational network that responds quickly to the needs of a given disaster, in this case the Bahamas. Here is a link for you to read the latest information on PDA and Bahama Relief:

LOUISVILLE — As Hurricane Dorian bears down on the North Carolina coast, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) stands ready to respond and already is responding to the devastation the storm left behind in the Bahamas. The hurricane, which has been lurking in the Atlantic Ocean for nearly two weeks, has put both PDA’s national and international response teams to work.
The other 50% of the money collected will be saved for a hands-on project where members of our church will travel to the Bahamas in the next 6 months to a year to help build a house or business or church or assist any way we can. Please make your check to Peace Covenant and mark it “Bahama Relief.” Thank you!
Everyone is invited to a baby shower for Richard and Heather Smothers on Sunday, October 6 at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Cake and punch will be served. If you would like to purchase a gift for the baby, they are registered at Amazon Baby Registry under Heather Smothers (there are 2). Please RSVP to email@example.com .
Our Choir Director, Joe Lowe is retiring and his final Sunday to play the organ will be September 29. We will celebrate Joe’s ministry here in the Keys and at Peace Covenant with a special Luncheon in his honor on Sunday, October 13 after worship. Please plan to join us. If you would like to send a card and love gift you can make the check to Joe Lowe or to Peace Covenant and we will add it to the total amount.
This Sunday I will be preaching on Finding Peace. It seems to be a major challenge in today’s society to find peace in our hearts, in our home, and in the world. We are constantly bombarded by news of violence and negative stories but Jesus promised us wonderful peace and I pray that God gives you peace in your heart this day!
