Good morning everyone,
Hurricane Dorian is still wreaking havoc up the Carolina coast this morning. As you know, Dorian inflicted enormous damage in the Northern Bahamas. Many people have asked how they can help the victims in the Bahamas. You can write a check to Peace Covenant c/o Bahama Relief. Our Mission Committee will be meeting this coming week to determine the best and most efficient way to get the resources needed to help the Bahamian people. We will keep you updated!
We just received a report that Dick and Susan Shetzer have survived Dorian as they live near Wilmington, North Carolina. God bless you both!
This week we will celebrate Holy Communion together as we remember the great gift of love and forgiveness from our Lord Jesus Christ. Our service is at 11 a.m.
I am attaching the September birthday list for you to consider sending a card to a member of our church family.
By the way, we are targeting the month of October to introduce our brand new hymnals, Glory To God in our worship service.
If you are interested in becoming a member of our church, please let me know and we will make that happen with our Elders. It only takes a few minutes after worship on Sunday.
This Sunday I will be preaching on Anger 101 and how to deal with anger issues. Anger is a God-given emotion and we will see on Sunday that Jesus himself became very angry at the money changers in the Temple. If we channel our anger into a cause or passion, it can be a powerful tool to change the world!
