This Sunday is the pinnacle of our Christian faith, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter! There will be no Sunday School this Sunday. We celebrate our 2019 Confirmation Class of seven young people joining our church. I will be asking them a series of questions and then they will read their statements of faith followed by a baptism and then our young people will sing “I have decided to follow Jesus.” We will then present them with a special gift! We will videotape this segment for all of you to see.
We ask our parents to bring your children at 10:30 to the rehearsal for the special song. We are also asking our parents to keep the children through the sermon and confirmation which will follow the sermon. After the special song, all children will be dismissed for the Easter Egg Hunt. After worship, we will celebrate our Confirmation Students and Baptism with special cakes furnished by Beverly Morris who will be rising from her recent surgery to come to Easter Sunday! A special thank you to our teachers, Katie Catena and Marika Smith for their consistent love, teaching and care for our children.
By the way, if you have a child in 3-7 grade who might like to be confirmed in the fall, please let me know and we will host another class.
We invite all those who purchased lilies to please take them home following the worship service. A special thank you to all of you who purchased lilies in memory of or in honor of someone special!
We are continuing to see matching funds from so many people on my $600 challenge and we greatly appreciate it! Thank you.
Please keep in your prayers the people in Paris who suffered a great loss in the fire of the Notre Dame Cathedral and also the people in three churches in Louisiana who are also trying to rebuild after their churches were destroyed by fire as well.
Maintenance Monday will commence at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 29. Please come and join us.
Today, a woman called who is flying in from California. She had listened to last Sunday’s sermon on David’s Last Words and wants to worship with us this Sunday. Truly amazing how the Spirit of God works in the hearts of humanity!
Blessings,
Pastor Daniel
